Emmanuel House

Who is this organisation?

Emmanuel House is a charitable organisation which aims to combat poverty in Nottingham. Through the running of a drop-in Day Centre, the organisation offers advice to those who are homeless or suffering from problems such as mental health deterioration and drug or alcohol misuse. The Day Centre also offers practical services, such as showers, meals, haircutting, internet access and social activities. Furthermore, the centre now offers educational support to its visitors, teaching courses in Maths, IT and English as well as providing friendly help with writing letters and CVs for employers.

What skills are they looking for?

A background in Housing, Ethnic Minorities or Disability would be desirable. Equally valuable would be a level of expertise in financial management and strategic planning.

Type of Volunteer Role

Emmanuel house are currently looking for trustees to assist on the Board of Management; the Board is responsible for the running of and strategic direction of the organisation, both financially and practically.

How often are meetings held?

Quarterly

When and where are the meetings?

The meetings are held at 5.30pm at the Emmanuel House centre.
