Bar Pro Bono Award 2017: Recognising the very best of the Bar's commitment to pro bono work

 

Every year the Bar Pro Bono Award recognises outstanding commitment to pro bono work by a barrister or chambers.

Nominations for the Bar Pro Bono Award 2017 have opened and the search for the very best of the Bar in the last 12 months begun. With 21 years of illustrious winners celebrated in the Bar Pro Bono Unit’s most recent Annual Review, a host of standout nominations are expected from across the Bar. 

 

This award is judged on, but not limited to, the following criteria:

  • the commitment of time by the barrister or chambers;
  • the importance of the assistance given;
  • innovation, inspiration or example in the work undertaken;
  • commitment to the pro bono ethic;
  • promotion of, and encouragement of others to undertake, pro bono work.

 

To nominate someone, you must:

  • fill in the nomination form below;
  • send in with at least two supporting letters.

 

The deadline for nominations is Monday 9th October 2017

The winner will be presented with the award at this year’s Bar Conference, which takes place on Saturday 4th November 2017. 

Nominations received will be published in the award brochure, distributed at the Bar Conference, and on the Bar Pro Bono Unit website.
