Caseworker

An opportunity exists for a determined, organised and enthusiastic individual to join the casework team. Previous experience assisting vulnerable people and scrupulous attention to detail are a must as you will liaise with pre-volunteered panel of almost 3,800 barristers, clerks and other stakeholders on a daily basis. You will report to the Head of Casework and work closely with the dedicated and friendly Unit team.

This is a full time role on a fixed-term basis for 18 months.

Digital Project Manager

The Unit is engaged in the development of an online platform enabling applicants to apply for help online and for volunteers to engage with our service online. The Digital Project Manager will be a key member of the project team and will be responsible for managing the digital development work within the project. This will mean ensuring that specific objectives relating to digital content, functionality and online testing are delivered on time. For more information, please read the Job Description.

The is a flexible role for six months.

Fundraising and Communications Assistant

An opportunity exists for an organised, creative and motivated individual to join the fundraising and communications team, helping to deliver exciting events, thanking and engaging our donors, administering our trustee recruitment sister charity, Bar in the Community, and helping to shape and deliver our case studies and communications content.

Fundraising or events experience, communication skills and scrupulous attention to detail are a must as you will liaise with barristers, sponsors and stakeholders on a daily basis. You will report to the Head of Fundraising and Communications and work closely alongside the dedicated and friendly Unit team, and our panel of almost 3,800 volunteer barristers. This opportunity is for someone with a recent track record of supporting fundraising and/or communications.

This is a part time role working three days per week for 12 months.

Fundraising Volunteer

February 2018 – mid April 2018

Do you want to gain professional fundraising experience? Come and help us run a nationwide fundraising challenge two days a week for 12 weeks! The Bar Pro Bono Unit and LawWorks are seeking an enthusiastic and committed volunteer to help deliver the annual Law School Challenge at our office in The National Pro Bono Centre on Chancery Lane, London.

You will be supporting the challenge two days per week, over a 12 week period.  Tasks will include:

  • To promote the Law School Challenge
  • To recruit Law School Challenge teams from across the country
  • To motivate Law School Challenge teams using email, phone and a variety of social media channels
  • To help produce and share fundraising resources for Law School Challenge team.

You must have some demonstrable fundraising and social media experience. Office experience is preferred but not essential. 

IT Intern 2016-2017

The Unit is in the process of upgrading its processes to integrate better IT and these changes offer an excellent opportunity for a IT literate and savvy candidate to gain office experience working with our IT Manager to prepare, implement and monitor changes.
